It's a fine example of deceptively simple verse. By the end, it hits much harder than you expect. I recommend her other work on that tag, too.

First item of business: I just saw La Double Vie de Véronique for the first time this evening. It's a stunning, delicately shot film that leaves you with more questions than answers about the plot, and the music is simply breathtaking. In other news, Star Trek was kind of awesome. I'm now determined to watch the original series. All I ever saw was Next Generation.

Let the Right One In is what all vampire flicks want to be when they grow up! I saw it a week ago, and it was stunning. I spent most of this week reading the book, which was just like the movie, only with even more fantastic character background included.

All I want is the green-light on starting the final chapter. My original thought about having a first full draft of everything by 1 June - that date is probably going to shift back to 1 July, but that would still leave three whole months up until the date I'm planning on proposing to submit. I'm glad that Sean Penn won Best Actor, and, well, I think Best Supporting was a no-brainer (congrats to both). I'm also pleased about Milk winning Best Original Screenplay, although I admit that I was desperately hoping it would win Best Picture.
